an independent software company
We make software that respects the people who use it.
Little Theta builds small, thoughtful apps for everyday life — and we're building a company that works the same way: small on purpose, patient, and proud of the details.
Good software, made by people who care, for people who notice.
Most software today is built to capture you: your attention, your data, your monthly payment. We think there's room for the other kind.
Little Theta exists to make the other kind — software that does one job well, treats your time and your information as yours, and earns its place on your phone rather than demanding it. We're starting with apps for health, music, and everyday habits. The common thread isn't a category; it's a standard.
We're building this company slowly and deliberately, funded by the things we make, so we never have to answer to anyone but the people who use our software.
Craft
Everything we ship is built and finished by hand, by people who use it daily. The details aren't polish on top — they're the work.
Respect
Fair prices, paid once. Data that stays on your device. No tricks, no nagging, no fine print we'd be embarrassed to read aloud.
Independence
No investors, no growth targets, no one to impress but you. We stay small so every decision has a name on it.
Why start a software company in 2026?
I've been writing software since I was seven and getting paid for it since I was sixteen. In all that time the tools have changed constantly, but one thing hasn't: the feeling of using something that was clearly made with care. You can tell. It fits your hand. It doesn't waste your time. Somebody thought about you.
That feeling has gotten rarer. A lot of what we install now is designed to keep us subscribed, keep us tapping, keep us from leaving. I don't think most of the people building it are bad — I think the business models are. So I wanted to try a different one: make small, useful things; charge a fair price, once; keep people's data on their own devices; and keep the company small enough that I'd still personally answer the support email.
Little Theta is that experiment. It's a studio, not a startup. There's no plan to get big. The plan is to make a handful of things really well, look after them for a long time, and build a company I'd be glad to buy from. If that sounds like the kind of software you want, I hope you'll give one of ours a try — and write to me if it falls short.

A few rules we hold ourselves to.
Written down so you can hold us to them too.
-
Buy it once.
If an app doesn't cost us money every month to run, it shouldn't cost you money every month to own. We charge a fair price, one time, wherever we possibly can.
-
Your data stays yours.
Everything lives on your device unless there's a real reason otherwise. No account required. You can export it all, any time. We'd honestly rather not know.
-
Nothing extra.
Every screen, every tap, every setting has to earn its place. Simple isn't a style — it's the whole job.
-
Fix before you add.
Bugs get fixed before features get built. Updates come when they're ready, not when a calendar says so.
-
Real people answer.
Write to us and a human who actually built the app writes back. Usually the same day.
-
Stay small.
Small enough that every decision has a name on it, and we never have to choose between what's good for the company and what's good for you.
What we've made so far.
Each one has a home of its own. They all started as something we needed and couldn't find, and they all follow the rules above.
- Nistis A fasting timer. That's it. For iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Macro Trainer A nutrition and training coach that adapts to you. Phone, tablet, and desktop.
- Reson8 A professional-grade instrument tuner. Phone, desktop, and the web.
- More in the workshop We'll announce things when they're ready, not before.
Say hello. A real person will answer.
Questions, press, partnerships, or a bug in one of our apps — one inbox, and the people who built the software on the other end.
